Senior I T Engineer (I T Support)

The company provides IT products and services to professional businesses and corporate clients. The offerings include software development, IT consultancy, IT support, and VoIP business phone systems.
The Role: Senior IT Engineer (IT Support) – Full time, Permanent Position in Central London
There is currently an opening for a Senior IT Engineer to provide IT support for a small number of clients. The person will be responsible for the provision of the IT support and the client relationship management.
Essential Requirements
• 5+ years experience in IT support, 3+ years in Server support.
• Server platforms: Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Linux.
• Server applications: MS Exchange Server.
• Backup software: Veritas/Symantec Backup Exec or equivalent.
• Antivirus package installation,remote access, VPN technologies.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP and all services such as DNS & DHCP.
• Basic firewall and NAT configuration.
• Good customer facing and communication skills. Smart and presentable where needed, prepared to crawl under tables and sort out cabling as necessary.
• Customer service, commitment and flexibility are a “must” for the job.
• Good troubleshooting/diagnostic abilities.
• Good hardware support skills.
• Good basic understanding of MS Office Suite
Desirable Skills
• Server Applications: MS SQL Server, SharePoint Services
• Unix, Linux, MySQL, Apache/IIS, Perl, scripting skills
• Active Directory policy configuration
• Cisco router configuration
• Exposure to VOIP technology (will be given the opportunity anyway)
• MCSE/MCSA/MCP/CCNA
